WHAT IS THE CUSP?

The Certified Utility Safety Professional (CUSP) certification is the only program that offers safety credentials to utilities, related contractors and communication providers. Created by the Utility Safety & Ops Leadership Network (USOLN), the CUSP credential provides industry-wide professional recognition as a utility safety professional and provides employers the assurance of an individual’s broad knowledge, skills and abilities in the utility work environment when hiring or promoting.

APPLY

Review and determine your CUSP eligibility, then complete the CUSP application.

PREPARE

Take time to study. You can prepare for the CUSP exam by registering for the optional CUSP Prep or by reviewing the preparation materials on our website. Preparation is not required but strongly encouraged.

TEST

CUSP Candidates must take and pass the base exam and at least one endorsement exam in order to become certified.
