The CUSP endorsement for Electric T&D includes operation, maintenance and construction of electric power transmission and distribution lines, including transformers and control equipment which are located outside of a generation plant.
By earning the T&D endorsement, we confirm our understanding of the country’s electrical T&D infrastructure. With the grid facing various threats, it’s crucial to have more people willing to verify their knowledge through this.
About the Endorsement:
The Electric Transmission and Distribution endorsement is one of five endorsement exams that are offered to CUSP candidates. The others are Gas, Power Generation, Civil and Utility Line Clearance Arborist.
The Electric Transmission and Distribution endorsement is for safety professionals that are performing work on overhead lines including structure installations and replacement and conductor stringing which could involve live line work on low and high voltage systems. These individuals also work on underground systems that may include cable installation and removal, splicing and cable terminations.
CUSP candidates that are interested in the Electric Transmission and Distribution endorsement work on equipment such as transformers, regulators, circuit breakers and reclosers that may be located on or in overhead structures, substations, sub-surface vaults and surface mounted pads.
Individuals that have already earned their CUSP credential can add the Electric Transmission and Distribution endorsement to their certification.
