CUSP Exam Development

Are you a CUSP who would like to participate in writing CUSP exam questions? If so this is the group for you!

As an item writer you will be:

  • Working with colleagues from diverse backgrounds to create questions for the CUSP exam
  • Sharing your knowledge of the profession and learning from your colleagues
  • Gaining expertise in item writing
  • Participating in the process designed to ensure that competent utility safety professionals are certified
  • Earning CUSP points towards your recertification

Newsletter/Article Writing

Communication is critical to every successful program.  If you like to work mostly by email and have strong communication skills, article writing might be a good fit for you.

We are looking for people to write feature articles for the Incident Prevention magazine and our e-newletter, Tailgate Topics. 

CUSP Application Review

Reviewing applications that have been submitted to see if if they meet the requirements to take the CUSP exam is another area that CUSP's can participate in.  This position is part of a committee that looks over the applications that are submitted and provides input on whether the applicant meets the elibility requirements or if there is more information needed.  If you are:

  • Organized
  • Detailed oriented
  • Somewhat computer savy
