CUSP Online Exam FAQs

How often are the CUSP exams offered?
USOLN has recently partnered with ASC, an exam software company, to administer the exams. Through this partnership, you can take the exams 24 hours a day/7 days a week from the comfort of your own home or office. This eliminates travel costs and time, and enables you to schedule the exam at a time that is convenient for you.
How do I register for an exam?

Before registering for a CUSP exam, make sure you have an application on file that has been approved within the past year.  To submit an application, please visit this link. Once your application is approved, you may register for an exam by visiting this link.

Are the exams proctored?

Yes. USOLN utilizes the services of a company called Monitor Edu to provide proctoring services when you take the exam. On the day of the exam, live proctors will guide you through the exam set-up and assist with any technical challenges.

Do you recommend using a work computer or a personal computer?

It is highly recommended that you use a personal computer to take the CUSP exam due to the strict firewalls company computers typically have. If you use a work computer, you might need administrator rights to utilize the exam software.

What type of identification will I need to take the exam?

You will need to have a government-issued document with your photo readily available for the proctor to view.  Acceptable forms of identification include a passport or driver’s license.

After registering for an exam, when will I receive access to the exam software?

Within five business days of registering for the CUSP exams, you will receive detailed exam instructions via email.

What equipment will I need to take the exams?
On the day of the exams, please make sure you have a computer with a camera and microphone, as well as a smartphone with video capability. Download the Google Meet app on your smartphone prior to beginning the exam. Please make sure all your devices are fully charged prior to taking the exam. Detailed exam instructions will be sent to you once you have registered for the exam.
When will I receive my exam results?
Your exam results will be provided to you immediately after taking the exam. Please note that the results are not official until you receive a confirmation email from USOLN. You will receive the confirmation email within 7 business days after taking the exam. You cannot use the CUSP designation until you receive official confirmation from USOLN.
Are exam scores provided?
Upon completion of your exam, you will receive a “Pass” or “Fail” notification. It is the policy of USOLN to not disclose specific exam scores.
How do I retake an exam if I do not pass?

You can register for a retake exam by visiting this link.  There is a $100 fee to retake each exam.

Can I be invoiced for the exam cost and have a purchase order issued to pay?
