The Utility Safety & Ops Leadership Network (USOLN) was created in 2009 out of the need for utility safety and operations personnel to network, share ideas and professionally develop in order to build strong safety cultures within their utility work environment. The Utility Safety & Ops Leadership Network is a 501c6 non-profit corporation.
Today over 1000 individuals benefit from their membership in the USOLN. USOLN members work for investor-owned utilities, electric cooperatives, municipal utilities and contractors providing services to the utility industry. The USOLN offers support and access to utility industry experts throughout the year. USOLN member meetings are held at the iP Utility Safety Conference & Expos.
A group of dedicated volunteers worked to develop a body of knowledge that was used to create the CUSP exams, which are used to assess the competence of utility safety and operations professionals. The USOLN and the CUSP certification program continue to rely on volunteers to serve as board members and committee members supporting its mission and programs.
The Utility Safety & Ops Leadership Network (USOLN) serves as an advocate for a safe, secure and productive utility work environment and as a catalyst for the prevention of incidents. The USOLN provides utility companies and their contractor partners with a reliable certification program, legislative/regulatory updates, and networking resources.
