Utility Line Clearance Arborist Endorsement

Utility Line Clearance Arborist:

Utility safety professionals that work in line clearance and tree trimming now have a CUSP endorsement specific to their discipline: the Utility Line Clearance Arborist (ULCA).

The ULCA Endorsement offered by the CUSP is a great enhancement to the safety culture in the Utility Line Clearance Industry.

About the Endorsement:

  • The ULCA endorsement is one of five endorsement exams that are offered to CUSP candidates. The others are Electric Transmission and Distribution, Gas, Power Generation and Civil.
  • The ULCA endorsement is for safety professionals that are performing the tasks of clearing space around electric power generation plants, transmission and distribution lines or other equipment, such as tree trimming and the cutting of brush.
  • CUSP candidates that are interested in the ULCA endorsement should be familiar with the special techniques and hazards involved in line clearance tree trimming without bodily entry into the Minimum Approach Distance (MAD).
  • Individuals that have already earned their CUSP credential can add the ULCA endorsement to their certification.
